International seminar on Advancing Locally Led Development Cooperation

KRIHS organized the seminar “Advancing Locally Led Development (LLD) Cooperation: Good Practices and Ways Forward” on September 11, 2024, at the Hotel Koreana. The seminar featured two main sessions. Session 1 focused on approaches by international organizations, while session 2 highlighted individual countries’ approaches and perspectives. Following the opening remarks by Dr. Gyo-Eon Shim, president of KRIHS, experts from King’s College London, the OECD, the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs, and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences presented and discussed LLD, an emerging international policy agenda.
With 70 attendees, the seminar concluded successfully and generated rich discussions. It opened public dialogue on LLD in Korea with stakeholders from NGOs, academia, and government offices to explore concrete ways to promote locally led development, with a special focus on the territorial and urban sector.
