Second session of the United Nations Habitat Assembly: Korea National Urban Policy Program (NUPP)

The second session of the United Nations Habitat Assembly took place from June 5 to June 9, 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya. On the first day of the Assembly, a side event on the Korea National Urban Policy Program (NUPP) was held. This event brought together government representatives and partners from the Republic of Korea, including Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), and Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS), as well as ministerial delegates from the eight participating countries. Additionally, the attendees included colleagues from UN agencies and representatives from non-participating countries, the private sector, and academia, all interested in the Korea NUPP. The primary goal of the event was to demonstrate how multilateral governance through the NUPP is positively impacting lives. Representing KRIHS, Ms. Youn Hee Jeong (Research Fellow) provided an additional perspective on promoting ownership and leadership within the Korea NUPP framework. Her speech encouraged participants to invest in people and underscored the importance of enhancing their capabilities.
