2022 International Conference on GIS (ICGIS)

On November 3, 2022, KRIHS hosted the “2022 International Conference on GIS (ICGIS)” at KINTEX Goyang which is a part of the 2022 Smart Land Expo that the Geospatially Enabled Society Research Division of KRIHS hosts under the supervision of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT). The conference began with an opening address by the President of KRIHS, Hyun-soo Kang, followed by a congratulatory address by Joo-yeob Kang, the Director General for National Spatial Data Infrastructure Policy at the MOLIT. Professor Christopher Pettit, the Director of the City Futures Research Centre at the University of New South Wales in Australia, and Professor Deren Li from Wuhan University in China delivered the keynote speeches entitled “Reinventing Cities: The Role of Smart Digital Planning Tools” and “Smart City Based on Digital Twins,” respectively.

The main presentation session with the theme “Digital Twin-Driven Smart City” consisted of the following presentations: Project PLATEAU: The Initiatives of Japanese Digital Twin; Digital GARAM + (Digital Twin Water Management Platform); Measures for the Advancement of a Smart City Using Digital Twin; and Next Generation of Smart City Development through Meta-Twin Transformation.
