2017 Korea-Russia Dialogue & 2017 Korea-Russia Far East Forum

 

 

President Kim Dongju and Global Development Partnership Center (GDPC) of Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS) participated in “2017 Korea-Russia Dialogue” and “2017 Korea-Russia Far East Forum” hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Vladivostok, on April 18-19, in Hyundai Hotel, 

 

On the “2017 Korea-Russia Dialogue,” participants discussed prospects of cooperative projects to be introduced in the Russian Far East, Korea-Russia exchange and new mechanism development for expanding cooperative ties. 

 

The 7th “2017 Korea-Russia Far East Forum” forum, which has been held since 2011, had presentations and discussions on trends of leading development sites and free ports plan, Korea-Russia cooperative plans on the Maritime Province transport networks in international corridors, and Korean-Russian cooperative plans on fishery and fishing boats in the Russian Far East.

 

Particularly, in session 2, where the KRIHS President, Kim Dongju was the chair person, the KRIHS Research Fellow in Smart Infrastructure Research Center, Lee Baekjin gave a presentation on “Cross-Border Industrial Belts and Transport Networks for the Northern Area and the Korean Peninsula : Focusing on the Russian Far East.” Also GDPC Director, Chung Jinkyu took part in the discussion.

 

Attending the forum were the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Vladivostok Lee Seokbae, Korea Maritime Institute President Yang Changho, KOTRA Executive Director Yun Sokwon and Korea Energy Economics Institute Chief Officer Yang Euyseok. From Russia, Chair of the Maritime Province Council, Vice-governor of the Maritime Province and staff from the Maritime Province Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Maritime Development Cooperation participated in the forum.​
