The 24th Japan-Korea Construction Economy Workshop
About: Discussions on the construction economy policies of Korea and Japan
Date: November 17, 2015
At: Hotel Sunroute Nara in Japan
At the invitation of Japan’s RICE, the Construction Economics Research Center of the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS) and the Construction and Economy Research Institute of Korea (CERIK) visited Japan and held a workshop on the construction economy policies of Korea and Japan on November 17.
This workshop covered three topics: trends and prospects for the two countries’ construction economy; construction labor market and skilled worker training system; and current issues in the overseas construction market. These topics, which were the issues of the common interest of the two nations, were discussed deeply since participants acknowledged that the topics could have a large impact on the construction industry in the future. Useful information was exchanged through presentations and discussions.
Participants included Vice President Kim Chongwon of KRIHS, Managing Director Kim Sungil of KRIHS, Associate Research Fellow Kim Minchul of KRIHS, Assistant Research Fellow Park Daekeun of KRIHS, and Researcher Sim Gyubeom of CERIK.
