About: Lecture and discussions on Korea’s balanced land and regional development strategies

Date : July 24, 2015

At: KRIHS

The Global Development Partnership Center(GDPC) of KRIHS organized “KRIHS-ASIA and CIS Territorial Development Strategy Workshop” on July 24th, at KRIHS. Nine officials attended the workshop from the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia, Iraq, Samoa, Serbia and Vanuatu, the Ministry of National Economy of Palestine, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.

Regarding the national income level, participants’ countries are classified Lower Middle Income Countries (LMIC) and Upper Middle Income Countries (UMIC). Though the countries have been industrialized by tailored planning and development strategies for each country, they are facing difficulties in achieving their development goals due to internal and external factors along with fiscal issues and trade deficit.

This workshop was to share and discuss Korean experience and knowledge in national territorial, urban and regional development, especially aiming at developing their capacity for public finance management and administration and, in consequence, helping establish development strategies that can deal with the development obstacles. KRIHS and the participants sought to have continuous collaborative opportunities between the two parties through the workshop.
