Purpose
  • To aid recipient country Cambodia, in establishing its basic national map which is essential for national development and autonomous state infrastructure-building.
  • Establish a basic framework that enables Cambodia to build and manage its geographic information systematically for national development, including a basic national map.
Contents
  • Need
    • KOICA, which is currently carrying out ODA projects in order to support development of a sustainable economical society, needs this process to build national development infrastructure.
    • In order to meet with Cambodia's continuous aid requests in the fields of geographical in-formation, there is a need to build a geographical information infrastructure system.
  • Contents
    • KOICA's aid project, includes providing overall technologies on National Geodetic survey. It has installed regular GPS observation posts seven Level 0 geodetic points and 155 and 92 1st-and-2nd-class geodetic points, respectively.
    • Building of Cambodia's geodetic points will be utilized as a basic file for producing a national basic map, with national development and management.
    • Under this circumstance, a protocol for the basic maps producing 1:5,000 and 1:25,000 scales are established
