2025 KRIHS World Campus

Date: May 19–23 (Mon–Fri), 2025

Venue: Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Namdaemun, Seoul, Korea

The KRIHS GDPC successfully held the 2025 KRIHS World Campus Invitational Training from May 19 to 23, 2025. Nine government officials and expert researchers from six countries, including Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Egypt, Kenya, and Cambodia, attended this program. They were selected from among the excellent graduates of the 2024 KRIHS World Campus online course. This in-person event offered participants a valuable opportunity to visit Republic of Korea’s land and urban development sites and gain in-depth insights into the country’s developmental practices.

The program featured lectures by ODA-related organizations, field visits to major development projects, and advisory sessions with subject-matter experts. Representatives from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation (KIND), and the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) introduced Korea’s development cooperation polices and shared major project cases. Participants had the opportunity to directly experience and deepen their understanding of Korea’s development sites by visiting various locations, such as the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, Seoul Energy Dream Center, Mapo Resource Recovery Facility, Cheonggyecheon Museum, Transport Operation and Information Service (TOPIS), LX Education Institute, and Happy City Sejong Promotion Center.

In addition, during advisory sessions with KRIHS experts, the participants received practical professional advice on their respective areas of interest and had the chance to refine their project concept papers (PCPs). In the future, the GDPC plans to discover projects jointly based on the PCPs established through this training and to expand sustainable international cooperation partnerships.
