KRIHS Education Course for High-level Officials Addresses Vietnamese Land Information Digitization.

Date|October 13-16 Venue|KRIHS, Seoul An education course for high-level officials for Vietnamese land information digitization was held by the Geospatial Information Research Division at KRIHS from October 13 to 16. Five high-ranking Vietnamese officials, including the vice minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), deputy head of the Department of International Cooperations at MONRE, head of the Department of International Cooperaions at the Land Management Authority (LMA), director of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and director of the Ministry of Finance, key policy decision makers in establishing the land information system for Vietnam, were invited to learn from Korea’s experience in land information digitization. KRIHS provided the Vietnamese officials with lectures regarding Korea’s land registration and the Korea Land Information System (KLIS) including relevant laws, operation strategies, and utilization of KLIS, which can be applied in Vietnamese land information digitization. On October 14, the Vietnamese officials visited the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) of Korea to discuss cooperation between Korea and Vietnam with Mr. Kim Kyeong-sik, Vice Minister of MOLIT . Also on October 16, they visited the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and met with Mr. Han Chung-sik, Vice President of KOICA to discuss directions and measures for further cooperation with Vietnam and KOICA.
