3rd World Bank - KRIHS regular workshops and cooperation Workshop

Date|October 28, 2014 Vanue|Washington, DC, World Bank Headquarters KRIHS Global Development Cooperation Center held '3rd World Bank - KRIHS regular workshops and cooperation workshop' on October 28, 2014 in World Bank Headquarters in Washington, DC. The workshop was attended by World Bank officials(Marisela Montoliu director, Ede Ijjasz-Vasquez, senior advisor, Sameh Wahba Housing and Urban experts and others) and KRIHS parties(8 officials including Kim Kyung-hwan President, Moon Jung-ho GDPC Director, Jo Jin-cheol Research Fellow, etc.). The event took place divided into morning and afternoon two sessions. "The Making and Implementation of Spatial and Housing Policies in Korea" by President Kim Kyung-hwan was the keynote presentation on the country's spatial planning and land development policies in the morning regular workshop. The end of the time, a variety of questions and answers and discussion followed . The World Bank and KRIHS Presenters made presentations on two themes of 'Housing and land development policy' and 'Regional spatial planning and sustainable development' following the keynote presentation. This workshop was successfully finished by the closing address of the World Bank Director Marisela Montoliu. 'World Bank - KRIHS recent Status and future cooperation' was presented by Jo Jin-cheol Research Fellow of KRIHS Global Development Cooperation Center in the afternoon session among the various fields and regional representatives of the World Bank. This meeting tried to find the way for the future cooperation between the two organizations related to the subject. The best practice between the two organizations was introduced through this regular workshops and a project for the policy and technical solutions for implementing them to developing countries was developed and this knowledge was shared in the workshop. Collaboration and workshops provided the time to do a collaboration analysis and to share various ideas of cooperation in the future to the present. It was agreed with each other to work hard for the continued cooperation in the future between the two organizations.
