India’s Observer Research Foundation Visits KRIHS to Discuss Urban Renewal in Mumbai
Date|September 22, 2014 Venue|KRIHS, Seoul The Global Development Partnership Center (GDPC) at KRIHS held an international workshop on city planning policy of Korea and India with a delegation from the Observer Research Foundation in Mumbai, India at the Ecole meeting room on the fourth floor of the KRIHS building on September 22, 2014. The delegation from the Observer Research Foundation, which is based in Mumbai, India, visited KRIHS to learn about Korea’s city planning policies and know-how and expertise of KRIHS as part of the Korea-India cooperation & exchange promotion project initiated by the Embassy of India in Korea. At the workshop, Mr. President Sudheendra Kulkarni from the Observer Research Foundation introduced Mumbai’s city planning and KRIHS Senior Research Fellow Jeong Il-ho and Choi Seong-soo and Associate Research Fellow Ahn Yong-jin who are currently participating in the Mumbai’s urban regeneration master plan establishment project made a presentation on the studies of Mumbai’s urban regeneration. Also, Senior Research Fellow Yoo Jae-yoon and Associate Research Fellow Wang Kwang-ik shared the urban regeneration project they implemented to have an in-depth discussion on Korea’s city planning and policy, allowing participants to discuss alternatives and future directions for city planning.
