35th Global Development Partnership Forum Addresses Cultural Overseas Project
Date: September 3, 2014 Venue: Seoul Global Center, Seoul The Global Development Partnership Center (GDPC) of KRIHS held the 35th Global Development Partnership Forum (GDP Forum) at the Seoul Global Center on September 3, 2014. This forum was attended by about 50 participants including Jeong Cheol-han, a representative of BNP PARIBAS and Choi Chang-hak, President of Spatial Information Research Institute at Korea Cadastral Survey Corporation. President Choi Mi-ok of Real Estate Research Institute at Korea Appraisal Board and Vice President Kim Seung-tae of Consulting Department at SIGONG Tech made presentations on “challenges of global development in an era of culture” and “killer contents – determinants of the success of development project,” respectively. At the forum, Deputy Director Jo Jin-chul of the GDPC reported the results of the 7th global development finance seminar, the status and activities of the forum including the recent change of the forum’s venue, and President Choi Mi-ok of Real Estate Research Institute at Korea Appraisal Board made a presentation on “challenges of global development in an era of culture” discussing the latest trends in land development and how to continue territorial development while preserving cultural heritage sites. In her presentation, President Choi stated that cultural heritage sites are not an obstacle to territorial development but rather they can become attractive tourist destinations that can contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the country. The final presentation was made by Vice President Kim Seung-tae of Consulting Department at SIGONG Tech on the topic of “killer contents – determinants of the success of development project.” His presentation focused on exhibition culture production strategies. Vice President Kim added that the domestic exhibition culture market is now saturated with as many as 850 companies and thus suggested that we explore new markets in other countries such as China and Kazakhstan. The 36th Global Development Partnership Forum is scheduled to be held at the Seminar Hall 3 at the National Assembly on October 1, 2014.
