2014 KRIHS-Vietnamese MOC & AMC Conference On June 19, the GDPC at KRIHS held a conference to discuss with a Vietnamese delegation possible joint projects between KRIHS and Vietnamese organizations, including training programs for government officials. The delegation, consisting of officials of the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam (MOC) and Academy of Managers for Construction and Cities (AMC) and members of Vietnamese universities specializing in construction and job training, came to visit Korea from June 16 to June 20. KRIHS and the AMC signed an MOU in 2012, and KRIHS has since run training programs for Vietnamese officials. This conference was held to review those programs and discuss ways to enhance cooperation between KRIHS, the AMC, and other Vietnamese institutions for construction education. 　The conference began with the welcoming remarks by Dr. Moon Jeong-ho, director of the GDPC, followed by introductions of KRIHS, the GDPC, the AMC, and six other Vietnamese institutions for construction and job education. After introductions, the participants discussed potential areas of cooperation between KRIHS and the Vietnamese institutions. In particular, they discussed developing training programs that could meet the actual needs of Vietnamese construction managers and technicians and transfer Korea’s knowledge in civil engineering, construction, urban planning, eco-city planning, disaster prevention, and underground construction.
