A Swedish Regional Development Delegation’s Visit to KRIHS A Swedish regional development delegation consisting of nine regional development directors and two members of Sewco Strategy, a Swedish regional development company, visited KRIHS on June 17. The Swedish delegation’s visit to Korea was intended to take a closer look at Korea and learn from its experience in regional development and rapid economic growth. The GDPC at KRIHS arranged a workshop on regional development in Korea, providing a forum for the Swedish visitors to understand territorial planning in Korea. At the workshop held in KRIHS’ fourth-floor meeting room, Dr. Moon Jeong-ho, director of the GDPC, delivered opening remarks, Ms. Im Yi-rang gave a brief introduction of KRIHS and the GDPC, and a presentation on the history of territorial planning in Korea and sustainable regional development followed. During the presentation, topics such as administrative divisions of Korea, the relationship between the central government and local governments, and territorial and regional planning in Korea were addressed.
