Policy Consultation for the Mumbai Urban Regeneration Project The GDPC at KRIHS received policy consultation from Dr. Vidyadhar Phatak, an Indian urban planning expert, for sixteen days from May 29 to June 13. Dr. Phatak, former Principal Chief of Town and Country Planning Division at the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), is working as a team head of the Navi Mumbai International Airport construction project. KRIHS, currently working to establish a master plan for urban regeneration in Mumbai, India, consulted with Dr. Phatak on various topics related to the development of Mumbai’s eastern area. During the consultation, consisting of advisory meetings, joint research, and field visits, the feasibility of a master plan for urban regeneration in eastern Mumbai and applicable Korean development models were reviewed, and initial development areas in the Mumbai metropolitan area were selected.
